Doggy weekend

Jake got adopted this weekend. Here is his new family. I really loved this dog and could have happily fostered him forever. Somehow though, this parting was not nearly as painful as some of the previous ones (for me at least, lots of the people I work with were very sad today when they heard the news). I think it is because I thought very seriously about keeping him, weighed all the pros and cons and finally decided it would be best for both of us if he found a more stable home. Still a little sad though. Then, they gave me a temporary foster, just for the weekend. I don't normally take puppies, but her real fosters left for the weekend without telling anyone and everyone else was full.
Meet Mrs. Chew
A terribly adorable little 5 month old puppy.
I've never had a puppy before, unless you count the puppies that my family got when I was a little kid - but I hardly even remember that, so... I freaked out a little when a game of tug of war resulted in bloody teeth on my floor (you'd think it would be obvious that puppies loose baby teeth just like kids, but did I think of that right away? miss biologist here? ha!) I also now have to steam clean my carpet because she got all excited and tinkled. But all in all, it was tons of fun.
On Monday, we took her to the beach and she went wild. Got car sick on the way though, I've never seen a dog drool so much. She never lost it, but she spent the last 1/2 hour salivating all over everything. Once she got to the beach though, she had a blast. There were lots of dead things lying about, dogfish, skates, baby seals, birds, shellfish. I think she almost wore out her nose (and me as well, with all the – oh shit dog, leave it!)
Morgan had almost as much fun as she did, digging in the sand.
And then, I got to give her back. Not too shabby huh? Rent a pup for the weekend?
