Summer Days

Hanging out with the girls in Emily's garden, lovely. Notice how Jenise is all glamorous, that's our Miami girl! Don't let it fool you though, she can outmuck anyone. These are the girls that took me out the other day to go, shudder shudder, shopping. They helped me to pick out a cute little dress, some new shoes to replace me old disintegrating ones, and some other girly stuff. I must admit, it was exhausting. And they claimed they had fun! I don't get my own sex in this regard. But, I got nifty new stuff, so...









Emily's garden is really doing well, she has tons of tomatoes and other goodies. I played with my camera while she watered. Doesn't the peach look delectable?




And my big (ish) news for the day, I have Logan for the afternoon. Susan needed to run an errand down in Modesto, so she dropped him off. He is still terribly cute. It is nice to have a visit, but not the responsibility!

This is my dear friend Shari, one of the few decent people in my grad group. We go to the farmer's market every Wednesday to eat dinner on the lawn and listen to varying quality of music. Her man Tom is up from law school in San Diego for the summer and has been joining us.
And here is Gerard, a story all in himself, which I probably shouldn't tell you since he knows how to get to this blog and will probably read this! ;) He's one of my favorite buddies, total pretty boy, but super cool for all that. He was one of my students the first year I taught Wetland Ecology.We flirted entirely too much and almost got into trouble, but now he is one of my greatest sources into the confusing minds of men. Great kid, looooves fish, and is definitely one of my favorite Davisites (though he's actually from Barcelona, does that count?). By the way ladies, he asked me to let you know he is single and passionate (his words!) Ha! ;)

River Trip

I finally got myself a new memory card for my camera! It has been so weird not to have the silly thing with me all the time, not to have anything interesting to post here. Though, as you may have noticed below, I have discovered how to post youtube videos! Geekdom here I come!
Quick update on my life: Logan went to a new foster, I was totally overwhelmed by being shackled to him 24/7. He now has a couple other dogs to play with, and I can actually go to the bathroom by myself! How lovely! There is a family possibly interested in him, a stay at home mom with 6 (yes, 6!) kids and 2 other dogs. Sounds lovely for him I think.
I went to the Yuba River with my new friend Everett this weekend. It was wonderful to get out of town and into the mountains! The water was pretty cold, but nice to swim in, the big granite boulders would be warm from the sun even under water. Ahhhh.... I think this cloud looks like a dragon flying through the sky
School is fine, I am still desperately seeking someone to go to Mexico with me, know of anyone? It's fun, just ask Katie! Lots of paper reading (and cross eyes!) right now. Oh, and I am working my way through the AFI's top 100 film list. Seen about 40 so far (not just recently! That counts all the ones I've seen in the past). It's kind of fun.
