Holašovice

Another day of touring, this time to see some peasant houses in a style restricted to this region of southern Bohemia. Dašas friend Honza joined us for the trip.
The town of Holašovice is famous for these houses and they were mostly all painted beautifully and kept up well (not the case in many towns).
The houses usually had a U shape, with the front portions historically being stables and places for various farmyard animals.

Hugo didn't really seem so interested, but...
Most of the little villages in this part of Czech (maybe others too, I'm not sure) have these little ponds in the center of town. I was told they are reservoirs in case of fire.
