Zláta Koruna

We went to an old monastery on Sunday. It was all closed up for the winter, but we wandered around outside. In a country made mostly atheist due to communism, this monastery is still something that many people are very proud of.
It has an interesting history. Like most monasteries in Czech, it had a school attached. Usually these are art or music schools. At Zláta Koruna though, they actually taught science. At a Catholic monastery. And, they taught girls. Pretty progressive place in the 18th century, no?

I took this picture to remind everyone that even God's followers can't escape the moles! ;)

I love the random gargoyles or other decorations
This tree has been through a lot. But, when a tree is actually that old, people try their damndest to keep it alive.
This is an old forge, there were a lot of them in this area
