Grand Bazaar

the Grand Bazaar is one of the more famous places in Istanbul.  Opinions range from it being the best place to shop ever, to it being an insane tourist trap.  We went with no money just to explore the giant complex and se what there was for sale.
The entrance (or one of them)

It is the largest covered bazaar in the world

It dates from the Ottoman era

Lots of tourist stuff like rugs

Spices

Lamps

Pretty ceramics

Dont want a rug? buy a purse made from one...

more crazy lamps

I liked this street.  scarves

and fabric

So pretty

Teas

This is the area outside the bazaar that we went the day before when everything was closed.  Looks a bit different now.

Op, back in the bazaar, in the gold isle

Not really my thing, but I liked the tea cups

Out another gate

I wasn't really tempted to buy anything, and it was chaotic, but it was fun to walk through
