Lycian way

Kaya Koyu was just the starting place for our main activity of the day.  We walked a small section of the Lycian way, a 5 week trail on the turquoise coast.  We just did from Kaya Koyu to Oludeniz.

The views were spectacular.  Sun facing the wrong direction most of the time, but still

I will say, it was not an easy hike.  Just about killed both of us and by this point we were getting into pretty good shape.

But you can't beat the scenery

Oludeniz bay

Eventually, we made our way to the nature preserve on the right end of this lagoon for a nice swim

The view from here was pretty spectacular.  I just kept think of roman histories where travel went through this area in the winter because further east the mountains became impassable.  But these mountains are huge!

There were paragliders constantly jumping off the high mountain and landing in the bay.

Oh, and we swam with a sea turtle.  On the walk out he even waved goodbye!  ha

In the original plan, we were going to walk back.  But the sun was setting (beautifully) and we were beat, so we took a taxi.

That gave us the time to enjoy the area and explore a little bit more.
We skipped the main beach because there were so very many people.  As the evening set in, these guys are cleaning out the tour boats.

Who knew this beach was completely packed (sardines) a few hours before
Such a beautiful place
