This place was a shrine to the goddess Leto, a nymph loved by Zues and hated by his wife Hera. She was reportedly turned away from this site by local herdsmen when speaking shelter for the birth of her twin sons, so she eventually came back and turned them into toads.
It was the official religious site for the Lycian federation
The agora was mostly waterlogged
Turtle trails
but the temples were and still are the main point of the site
the middle one was dedicated to Artemis
the near one dedicated to Leto
Inscriptions
Cool carvings
a reproduction mosaic on the third temple suggests (to those who know) that this temple was dedicated to Artemis and Apollo
Some restored columns but mostly what is left is the base of the temples
More cool carvings
Entrance to the theater
the theater was largely filled in. You can kind of see the excavation on the right exposing more benches
This place was hot and a little funky, but still pretty darn cool
